TMJ popping and clicking has ? I have had TMJ for as long as I could remember. My jaw has always popped, cracked, locked, etc. My dentist has been tracking my TMJ, as well as I have been to a leading specialist in TMJ. Anyway, recently, the left side stopped making audible popping noises, and is now a constant intense pain. It kinda spreads across my left half of the face. Let the dentist know about it and he evaluated me, telling met to do some physical therapy jaw stuff to myself and take 400 of ibuprofen daily. I try to resist painkillers/drugs at all costs. I caved in and took some- did NOTHING. Any ideas? The only change lately is that I started an intense body building routine…but I have worked out in 3 days and figure that would let the pain subside- no luck.
